Ferdy's Haven is a temporary residential-based recovery focused service based on Palm Island (outside of Townsville) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people seeking to free themselves from the burden of addiction. They offer a culturally appropriate setting where participants can feel safe, secure and supported in their recovery efforts. The residential based recovery model is complemented by the Community Wellbeing Service which focuses on the early identification and prevention of alcohol and drug use with a range of program sessions to help equip an individual to take back control of their lives.
Ferdy's would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands they are situated on, the “Manbarra People” as well as acknowledge the “Bwgcolman People” who have historical connection to their land. They pay respects to Elders past and present while also acknowledging leaders past, present and emerging.
Check out their service video here.
