Insight has developed a free, self-guided, online Take Home Naloxone (THN) Brief Intervention based on a validated tool called the Opioid Overdose Knowledge Scale (OOKS).  The 10-15 minute intervention is designed to be delivered by an authorised worker to a client or family member prior to supplying them with THN and requires the use of a computer or mobile device.

The intervention has been launched as part of a broader Take Home Naloxone Toolkit which also contains an instructional eLearning module, resources and accompanying explainer videos.

NB: For Queensland-based workers, completing this eLearning module does not automatically grant you approval to possess or supply THN - instead your employing entity must have prior Queensland Health approval and, in turn, grant you internal authorisation.

Workers and services in other states and territories are also welcome to use the Brief Intervention and other resources (if you like them!).

Insight's THN Brief Intervention was developed in partnership with Metro North Mental Health - Alcohol and Drug Service.

Check out the Take Home Naloxone Toolkit here (where you can scroll down to find the direct link to the Brief Intervention under the "Tools and Resources" section).
