Research shows that approximately 50% of clients seeking treatment for alcohol or other drug use have cognitive impairment. This can make staying in and benefiting from treatment more challenging.  The good news is that there are tools to help support you in your practice.

The NSW Government's Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) have released their ACE program which comprises a suite of free tools and resources that provide a cognitive impairment intervention for people in alcohol and drug treatment settings.

The program was a collaborative effort between the ACI, Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD and 11 NSW-based residential rehab services.
