The Police Drug Diversion Program and the Illicit Drugs Court Diversion Program are Queensland State Government initiatives aimed at diverting persons who have committed a minor drug offence into alcohol and drug treatment. This manual is designed for service providers who deliver Drug Assessment and Education Sessions (DAES) to clients referred through the Police Drug Diversion Program and the Illicit Drugs Court Diversion Program. It aims to assist these workers to understand the purpose, processes and operational requirements of these diversion programs.

Please Note: In the past these programs have been referred to as the Queensland Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative (QIDDI). This title is no longer accurate and throughout this manual these programs will be referred to as Police/Court Diversion (PCD).
