This presentation introduces the Queensland AOD Peer Workforce Framework, a statewide, LLE-led guide for building effective and sustainable peer roles. It will outline why the framework was developed and what it offers peers, organisations and decision-makers. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how the framework can strengthen practice, reduce tokenism and effect lasting systems change.
Emma Kill is Chief Executive Officer at QuIVAA. She has has a long history delivering harm reduction and therapeutic AOD services across Qld. Her commitment to the health and human rights of PWUD has seen her inclusion on a wide range of boards and advisory committees where she actively campaigns around the many issues that the community she represents face in achieving equitable participation.
Camilla Thompson is the Lived-Living Experience Leadership Coordinator at QuIHN. She has worked across frontline service delivery, case management, peer workforce development, systems advocacy, and organisational leadership in the alcohol and other drug community. She has also led the development and implementation of the QuIHN Peer Leadership Framework and continues to work collaboratively with peers, services, stakeholders, and sector leaders to strengthen lived-living experience leadership across Queensland.
