MODULE AIM:The aim of this module is to introduce learners to foundational knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives of health and understanding of social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB). 
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to: 

  • Understand and describe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives of health, the emergence of the SEWB framework and development of the SEWB model  
  • Describe SEWB domains, principles and determinants and their importance to the SEWB of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities 
  • Recognise the importance of using a SEWB approach when supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with AOD problems.
