MODULE AIM:The aim of this module is to equip workers with an understanding of inhalable volatile hydrocarbons, their impacts, and ways to respond.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • describe inhalants, including their history of use, product types, rates of use, and reasons for use
  • describe the effects and risks of using volatile hydrocarbons, including dependence and withdrawal
  • identify ways to respond to volatile hydrocarbon use at the individual and community level, including responding to intoxication and withdrawal
  • access resources that assist in implementing improved responses to volatile hydrocarbon use.
