MODULE AIM:The aim of this module is to familiarise workers with the overarching policy and practice settings that underpin the AOD treatment system in Queensland.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the key policies that guide both Australia's and Queensland's approach to responding to AOD use in the community.
  • Describe the spectrum of AOD approaches and interventions spanning from health promotion, prevention and early intervention through to treatment and aftercare.
  • Describe key statewide and national AOD training providers, research centres and sector peak bodies.
