MODULE AIM:This e-learning is designed to improve workers' knowledge and confidence in assessing alcohol and other drug use.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • gain familiarity with an AOD assessment tool that integrates the biopsychosocial model and utilises a semi-structured interview method
  • recognise the various data points obtained during an initial AOD assessment
  • articulate strategies to ensure assessments are person-centred, leverage individual strengths, are trauma-informed, and respect cultural nuances
  • support an effective closure for assessment sessions.
