Although most LGBTIQA+ people live happy and healthy lives, the prevalence of AOD use among LGBTIQA+ individuals is significantly higher than that of cisgendered and heterosexual people. LGBTIQA+ people also face challenges in accessing and engaging with mainstream AOD treatment services. Our study explored the unique experiences of LGBTIQA+ individuals accessing these services, aiming to develop recommendations for enhancing AOD treatment from an LGBTQAI+

John Kelly is a psychologist and currently serves as the Director of Psychosocial Services with the Metro North Alcohol and Drug Service.

Cassie Davis is a psychologist, also with Metro North Alcohol and Drug Service
