TARGET AUDIENCEAll AOD, Mental Health, and SEWB workers who provide counselling and/or case management style support to people accessing services.
MODULE AIMThe aim of this module is to build your confidence and capability in delivering trauma-informed care with priority populations by deepening your understanding of the factors that shape trauma risk and support needs.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • identify key trauma risks and vulnerabilities associated with different priority populations
  • apply the five trauma-informed care principles to adapt communication, engagement, and support strategies
  • describe the intersecting impacts of marginalisation, discrimination, and social determinants on client wellbeing
  • reflect on your own assumptions and service practices through case-based learning and lived experience insights
  • access relevant resources, toolkits, and referral supports for trauma-informed practice
