This seminar presents findings from a longitudinal qualitative research project that followed 38 young people over a year after exiting residential treatment. It describes the key resources used to maintain positive trajectories, including: respectful and unconditional relationships with staff; support to develop skills for everyday living including participation in paid work; and involvement in continuing care programs that are relationship-based so to address their experiences of service fragmentation.
