A timeline approach

by Dovetail

In the video shown here, Associate Professor Phil Crane shows workers how to use a timeline approach to mapping young people’s past, present and future family and significant other relationships. In the time line approach the young person is represented by the point in the middle of a circle and indicates their proximity to family members within the circle at different points in time. This tool may assist a young person to appreciate family as dynamic and evolving and gives space for the discussion of their hopes for future relationships.
