10:00 am – 11:00 am
AEST (QLD time)
The high prevalence of co-occurring mental disorders in alcohol or other drug (AOD) treatment settings means workers often need to manage complex psychiatric symptoms that may interfere with their ability to treat client’s AOD use. To improve workforce capacity to respond, the Australian Government Department of Health funded the development of evidence-based National Comorbidity Guidelines and an accompanying online training program. This presentation will provide an overview of the Guidelines and their resources.
Erin is a Research Officer at The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use at the University of Sydney, working on the dissemination and online translation of the National Comorbidity Guidelines.
Seminars are held each Wednesday morning starting at 10:00am AEST (Queensland time) in the Edwards Miller Training Room, 4th floor, Biala. The program for Semester 1 – 2019 commences on Wednesday 13th March and concludes on Wednesday 7th June. There are 12 seminars each semester and each presentation lasts for one hour.
