MODULE AIMIn our work with women, our assessment of their health is not complete if we don’t ask about alcohol and drug use. This eLearning will help you to identify the issues of alcohol and drug use for women, and apply brief intervention skills to Ask, Advise and Help to support them to improve their health. 
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • understand the effects of alcohol and drug use across preconception, pregnancy and postnatal stages for women and their children
  • apply brief interventions (3-step model) to support women and families to change their substance use behaviours to improve health outcomes
  • describe child and family safety considerations in maternal use of alcohol and other drugs
  • list resources and further learning to support the use of brief interventions.

CPDParticipation in this activity may contribute to CPD. A Statement of Completion will be issued on completion of this module.
