The field of pscyhedelic medicine has rapidly evolved in the past 10 years, culminating in the re-scheduling of psilocybin to treat depression and MDMA to treat PTSD. In this seminar I will present an overview of our experiences with establishing a psychedelic research program at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and a summary of results from our first study of psilocybin assisted psychotherapy for methamphetamine dependence.
Jonathan Brett is a senior staff specialist in clinical pharmacology, toxicology and addiction medicine at St. Vincent's Hospital and a clinical toxicologist with the NSW Poisons Centre, conjoint Associate Professor at St. Vincent's Clinical School and Senior Research Fellow with the Medicines and Health Intelligence Unit at the School of Population Health, UNSW.
