This webinar will discuss key changes for pharmacists in relation to the Queensland Opioid Treatment Program (QOTP).
The Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 (the MP Act 2019) will, on commencement, replace the Health Act 1937 and the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996 (HDPR). QOTP Written Instructions (WIs) will no longer exist under the MP Act 2019 and instead, a prescriber’s direction to supply opioid maintenance therapy will be via a ‘prescription’ (handwritten or generated by a computer and printed). The MP Act 2019 will also allow for the implementation of a real-time prescription monitoring system called QScript.
