TARGET AUDIENCEAll prescribers and dispensers.
MODULE AIMThis module provides participants with the theoretical understanding of the evidence behind off-label prescribing of quetiapine. It will assist the practitioner in managing patients who have been prescribed quetiapine for off-label use including identifying and managing long-term risks of quetiapine use.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • summarise the current evidence for off-label use of quetiapine
  • demonstrate safe prescribing and cessation of off-label use of quetiapine
  • identify the signs and symptoms of quetiapine withdrawal
  • identify specific precautions and contraindications relating to quetiapine prescribing
  • demonstrate appropriate management of patients prescribed quetiapine including monitoring for side effects.
