TARGET AUDIENCEAll AOD, Mental Health, and SEWB workers who provide counselling and/or case management style support to people accessing services.
MODULE AIMThis module aims to equip you with foundational knowledge and practical strategies to provide trauma-informed care with people experiencing complex trauma responses such as dissociation, psychosis, Complex PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • explain the relationship between trauma and dissociation, psychosis, Complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) 
  • use the five core principles (Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment) to respond to challenging behaviours with compassion and context
  • recognise the importance of vulnerability and authenticity in therapeutic relationships 
  • identify strategies to maintain professional boundaries and support your own wellbeing
