Substance-related content is extremely common in the modern media environment and there is a reported link between seeing substance-related content and alcohol use. However, people are extremely inaccurate at estimating exposure. This presentation will discuss our team’s work using objective measures to estimate exposure to substance-related content, the impact it can have, and how we can use it to intervene.

Benjamin Riordan is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research (CAPR) at La Trobe University
